Where is the curve?

Since the beginning, a single neatly folded information has been fed to us. For: everything falls to the ground due to gravitation, there is gravitation so everything falls to the ground. We are made to look in a certain direction. But what if one day, you wake up to realize that everything you have been taught is untrue and begin to question your very own existence? Likewise, a concept regarding the shape of the Earth has constantly been mocked for ages and criticized, the concept of a flat earth.

This concept was first brought up by Samuel Rowbothan along with the conduction of Bedford-Level Experiments. Over time other members of the Flat Earth Society have performed similar experiments that has been contributing to the theory of flat Earth and the fact that a disc-shaped Earth exists. But here's a thing with Flat Earthers or the people who believe in this concept, they are Zetetics i.e. a true skeptic or those who don't necessarily believe in an idea just because someone else has said to prove it. Like: we for instance have never actually conducted an experiment outside the laboratory. You are going to believe in a book written by a man you never met?

Similarly, you too can conduct an experiment of your own, look for the curvature of the Earth i.e. a place where it bends because if the Earth is a globe, there must be a place where it bends. People fail. When they say look for the horizon, it is as straight as a horizontal line. If you look at a flat plane land such as the Terai of Nepal, you will notice that there is endless land and miles and miles that don't curve but is straight. People on airplane claim to have seen it from height. But in reference to the radius of Earth, the curvature can be seen from 4o,ooo ft, and commercial aircraft are not allowed to fly that high. Moreover, the window glass is small, thick, and heavily curved. The photographs taken from height experience a phenomenon that states that light bends or refraction of light, so the images can be easily altered.

Zetetics have never really seen the curve that questions its very existence.

The map of flat earth and round earth may be very similar but there are differences that cannot be ignored. The map of flat earth is the round earth placed head first in the center and the continents spread out and finally enclosed by the southern boundaries. The logo of the UN reassembles the map of a flat earth. The north pole or Arctic Pole is in the center and the countries and the whole of the water are protected by a large chunk of ice of Antarctica or the south pole. What lies after that remains of great interest to the whole society.

If you plan on exploring Antarctica, it's restricted. In 1961, all the countries of power signed a document saying that no one is ever allowed to enter the area. You can conduct small experiments in tiny parts but not much and you can't even take a foot not being under supervision. It remains the only untenanted continent. In 1950, Richard E Byrd Admiral in the Navy took 4500 officers to investigate calling it a very important research that claims that the place is enriched with oil, coal, uranium, and a plethora of natural resources. Why hasn't the government used it and moreover why haven't any oil companies been banging the UN?

All flights that ever existed are designed in such a way that every flight you ever take leads you further from Antarctica. Try the Perth to Brazil flight.

People claim that there have been images of the round earth all over the internet. We need to know that the pictures that have ever reached our hands are from NASA. As the earth is huge only partial images can be taken and later framed in one. These are composite images. Even the people in space stations can see 3 percent of the earth at a time. In such an advanced era of photographs, people cannot get their hands on a 180 or 360-degree image of the earth. Why? Because there is a fourth wall, a wall filled with cameras, wires, and projectors. Yes, there have been claims that these pictures and footage are shot inside a room like a theater.

NASA claims that the technology that made mankind's first step on the moon has been destroyed and cannot be rebuilt at the present date. We have proof of ancient Egyptian pots centuries old but the footage of moon walk by man has been lost? NASA claims that the technology cannot be rebuilt and even if the footage is found there is no means to play it again. This all builds distrust. Some people even claim that these space travels have been faked. It all started with the cold war after ww2 between USSR and USA.  The series went on repeating until finally the companies started embezzling money for greed.

But the concept has been going on for ages, why a concept so ancient is questioned? people ask. Firstly, the concept of flat earth is even older. The oldest five religions claimed the earth was flat and was protected by a dome-like structure called fermanent. Later in the 16th century, Copernicus proposed the globe model. As the war between religion and science has been going on for ages, people began debunking those religions and easily engulfed the knowledge of a flat earth. However, to this date this concept is not linked with any religion.

Similarly, we have been told that we have been descended from monkeys and there were organisms before us and will always be more advanced organisms coming in the future. This makes you look very useless like a speck of dirt in the very vast universe. The only purpose you have here is to contribute to the evolution and make a  better future for the future generation when we know for sure that they will enjoy a greater and so much better life than we currently have now. It makes us sound useless.

But the theory of flat earth is actually quite interesting. Firstly it makes you a Zetetics. As per the structure of the flat earth, there is the flat earth that is surrounded by a semicircle dome where there are clouds, a moon, a sun, and other planets. The moon and sun rotate around the dome and like a spotlight, wherever place it lies above, they create a particular surrounding. What lies above the dome may be a spiritual or mystical or any other voice of a free thinker. It says that the place we stand today is the center of the universe and all other things revolve around us. We were and will always be the supreme leader. This theory gives each and every being a sense of pride and supreme power. The statement that the universe exists for you makes you gain a larger power and control.

The government or the people in power has always been building up stuff to weaken society. For example, today's world is very materialistic and people are obsessed with looking good and getting all the branded stuff. All the places, right from your palm i.e. phone to your surrounding is filled with advertising and branding, which is quite ridiculous and express fear, want, ego, etc. These small things act as a distraction from the real purpose of our life. The reason the government doesn't want normal people to do this is that they want the people to feel small because a weak society is easy to control and easily manipulative.

If a person wants to get more information regarding this subject and decides to search it, even before the proof and experiments, many videos and searches regarding what a bizarre idea is to pop up. This is the intervention the government tries to impose on people so they neglect this idea. They take up much interest in hiding this fact by calling it an unconventional belief. We being free thinkers in society need to have the power to decide what we want to believe in ourselves.

We being a Zetetic cannot even believe everything this article states. This is only a compilation and people are free to explore this field. The earth may or may not be flat but this simple concept motivates people to question their thoughts and not blindly believe everything that has been said to us with so much bravado.

Loved the red sea

(This is purely fiction and please don't report this to my parents ;p) .. My fantasies were coated by perfect men from books who spoke perfect words to flow the hem of my skirt and the strings of my heart. These men knew every poem ever written and every fairytale ever told. These men loved children and respected women. These men were crafted from a woman's pencil. I longed for these men. Painful to realize a real man is made of dirt and dust. They are made up of rhythmless tunes and mismatched words. They are clever yet need help to understand their feelings. They make me grip my hair and groan in distress. I could never find a prince of books. Then I got a man. Perfect at see but flawed at saw. These hip of imperfections could not match my dreams. Mismatch at its finest. 1 don't want to see but I observe and am curious. Who is this? Who is he who dreams of me? One of his kind, I dare say. The open arms invite me and hug me so tight, it's difficult to breathe. Actions...

Review of movie Thappad (Slap)

The best thing is that the script has some pretty basic conversation you have between your family members. When placed in different limelight, you feel the hypocrisy and the male dominance radiating in it and how you have grown thinking it is normal Thappad Theatrical Poster I was on a Twitter space where we were discussing strong female characters and I caught someone mentioning the movie Thappad. This movie was on my to-do list but because it was not the plain chick flick movie with a predictable plot, I was head-on heals procrastinating it. Regardless I did summon the courage and watched it only to be absolutely in love. If you haven’t watched it already, please stop reading- go and watch it right now. Thappad is a strong feminist movie that addresses a big problem of a typical brown household. I remember asking my mother a question- Where do you see yourself in 5 years. She smiled and said- On my daughter’s graduation. I tried again, ‘What about yourself? What makes you happy? What...

Nancy Drew: My hunger for mysteries

I picked my first Nancy Drew novel in Grade 5 and instantly was obsessed with this little girl going around finding clues and unfolding secrets I could only dream of. I tried to do the same, however, staying in a hostel I could barely afford a lawyer father who would give me cases. Regardless, our assumptions were limited to Jujuman, the hostel ghost, and we used to snoop around in his abandoned car in front of the music room. We would sit there after dance and music classes and look at the old car. Although no one had the courage to go inside, we were very curious and so started investigating the mud around the area. This novel made me realize my hunger for mysteries and quests. It also help form a deep connection with my best friends where we would establish an informal book club. It also developed my habit of reading where gradually I shifted from Nancy to Nora Roberts to Dan Brown to Sidney Sheldon and Jeffery Archer books. One major thing I learned is: She starts from a clue and s...
